Question 1

How do I make a UPI QR code for my shop?

Accepted Answer

Type your shop name and your UPI ID (it looks like name@bank, and is in your UPI app under your profile). The QR appears on the standee. Print it, or download the PNG and get it printed at any print shop.

Question 2

Will this QR work with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It holds a standard UPI payment link (upi://pay with your UPI ID, name and currency), which every UPI app reads. Money goes straight to the bank account linked to that UPI ID; nothing passes through Kownt X.

Question 3

Should I put a fixed amount on the QR?

Accepted Answer

Only for one price, like a ₹20 parking slip or a fixed-fee service. With an amount set, the customer can't change it. For a shop counter, leave it empty so the customer types the bill amount.

Question 4

Is a QR from my personal UPI ID allowed for business?

Accepted Answer

It works, but some apps show it as a payment to a person, and banks can set limits on how many payments a personal account receives. For a merchant QR with settlement reports or a sound box, ask your bank or payment app for a merchant UPI ID, then make the standee with that ID here.

Question 5

What size should I print it?

Accepted Answer

A6 (105 × 148 mm) puts the QR at 70 mm, which phones scan easily from a counter's distance. Print with margins set to none, and scan it once with your own phone before you put it out.
